So very much looking forward to another year of Matariki celebrations this month. It is such a wonderful time for food, friends, memories and future plans.
We are celebrating here in the library, with a collaborative, hands-on display/activity. The aim is to create a permanent kahu huruhuru for the library, but instead of using more traditional methods and bird feathers, we are going to make it out of paper feathers. The paper, will of course, be from our withdrawn library books, so that they may get a new life as works of art.
The templates have been made up, pages torn out, and paper feathers have already been started to help get the momentum going.
